* Jimmy Neesham is out of second Test match due to fitness issue. Mark Craig is out of remainder of Test series and Jeetan Patel would be his replacement.
* Ishant Sharma is still not recovered and won't play second test for India. KL Rahul injured his right hamstring during first Test match and he won't play second match. Gautam Gambhir would be his replacement. It will be Gambhir's return to Indian Test team after 2 years.

1. First Test Match: India won first test match by 197 runs. RA Jadeja is Player of the Match. India scored 318 and 377/5d while New Zealand scored 262 and 236 runs. This win was the first step to get close to number 1 ranking in ICC test cricket.

2. Second Test Match: India defeated New Zealand in 2nd test match by 178 runs to reclaim Number 1 Test Ranking from Pakistan. India score 316 runs in first innings and 263 runs in second innings. New Zealand couldn't match India in any of their innings, first inning score of  204 runs and second innings score of 197 runs was below par. WP Saha is player of the match.

3. Third Test Match: India beat New Zealand in third and final test match by 321 runs. India completed 3-0 whitewash of test series against New Zealand. Ashwin took 6 wickets in first innings and 7 wickets in second innings and become Player of the Match and Player of the Series.

IND v NZ ODI Series Results:
1. First ODI Match: India defeated New Zealand in 1st match of ODI series by 6 wickets with 101 balls remaining. Hardik Pandya is player of the match on his debut for his bowling performance of 3 for 31 in 7 overs.

2. Second ODI Match: New Zealand beat India in 2nd ODI match by 6 runs. Black caps captain Kane Williamson is player of the match for his 118 runs. New Zealand leveled ODI series 1-1.

3. Third ODI Match: India beat New Zealand in 3rd ODI match by 7 wickets and 10 balls remaining. Virat Kohli is player of the match for his superb 154 runs not out batting. India lead ODI series 2-1.

4. Fourth ODI Match: India lost to New Zealand in 4th ODI match by 19 runs. New Zealand won toss and decided to bat first, NZ scored 260/7 in 50 overs. India in reply were all out for 241 runs. Martin Guptil is player of the match. New Zealand leveled series 2-2, final match will decide who will win the ODI series.

5. Fifth ODI Match: India seal one day international series by beating New Zealand in final and decisive ODI match by 190 runs. Spin attack was the main difference between two sides, New Zealand clearly didn't plan squad according to nature of the pitch. India chose to bat first and scored 269/6 in 50 overs. New Zealand chase was never comfortable, they kept losing wickets at regular interval and bowled out for their record shortest ever ODI innings for 79 runs in 23.1 overs. Amit Mishra is player of the match.
  • Amit Mishra (India) is player of the series for his superb spin bowling that led India to 3-2 victory in One Day International series 2016 against New Zealand. Mishra took 15 wickets in series and became the only bowler to have that many wickets in five match ODI series against Kiwi's.
